No.2 2023 LB Troy Bowles names top 8
Four-star linebacker Troy Bowles of Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit High has narrowed his list to eight schools— Rutgers, Georgia, Auburn, Ohio State, Florida, Oklahoma, Clemson, and Alabama.
The 6-foot-1, 205 pounder went in-depth on his finalists.
Rutgers
“My brother goes there and the new defensive coaches are good people and they show a ton of love,” Bowles said. “New Jersey is like home.”
Georgia
“Coach Schumann and the whole coaching staff are cool people and coach Smart and everyone there always keeps it real with me.”
Auburn
“Auburn is a real college town and you really get that community feel when you’re there,” Bowles said. “I have a ton of respect for them and the coaching staff, that was my team growing up.”
Ohio state
“Ohio State has been on me heavy,” Bowles said. “Even after the departure of coach Washington, I kept in good contact and have a good relationship with them.”
Florida
“The new coaching staff is awesome,” Bowles said. “I’ve been hearing it from some people I know on the team, and I think they’re creating something special.”

“Coach Venables and I have a very good relationship and he’s always been honest with me,” Bowles said. “I have a lot of respect for him, and the fans are crazy. I love it.”
Clemson
“Clemson is another great college town and I have a great relationship with the coaches,” Bowles said. “They’ve been a really honest school in this process.”
Alabama
I’ve just started building my relationship with the coaches, but it’s Alabama,” Bowles said. “Everybody knows what they’ve done and what they accomplished.”
