4-star PG Isaiah Denis commits to North Carolina
Isaiah Denis, a four-star point guard in the 2025 class, has committed to North Carolina, he told On3.
The 6-foot-5 senior out of Davidson Day (NC) chose Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels over offers from Tennessee, Miami, Wake Forest, Ohio State, and others.
Denis is the nation’s No. 56 overall prospect, No. 11 point guard and No. 1 recruit from North Carolina in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Denis becomes UNC’s second commitment this cycle, joining four-star CG Derek Dixon (No. 48 nationally).

Denis Scouting Report
“The takeaway from watching Isaiah Denis is the speed. At a lengthy 6-foot-6, Denis has unique speed with the ball in his hands. He is confident. He is going to need to continue adding weight, he gets knocked off his line relatively easy getting downhill. He has a solid release on his shot, no matter the range. He needs to tighten his footwork and get his balance points more consistent with his shot. He is inconsistent at this point, still learning the reads on ball. He plays at one speed, and while that speed is fast, it can get him in trouble at times. Like to see him learn to be more of a threat off the ball. He has upside on defense with his size, length, and twitchy athleticism. There is upside there, and a lot of his growth could happen with continued reps. His confidence exudes.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
On3’s Jamie Shaw wrote earlier this summer that Denis was one of the biggest stock risers from the EYBL Session in Indianpolis:
“Isaiah Denis has been on an upward trajectory since the high school season when his Davidson Day School/NC team won the North Carolina state championship. Denis is a 6-foot-4 guard who has long arms and shot-out-of-a-cannon-type explosion. Denis’ end-to-end speed, with the ball, is intriguing. While he will need to clean up his reads and continue learning pace, the natural tools that he has, accompanied by his alpha mentality make for a very interesting long-term outlook.”
