North Carolina bringing back Tar Heel foot helmet decals for 2024 season
College football is nearly back and fans across the country can’t wait! North Carolina fans are already amped up about the 2024 campaign, as they return one of the nation’s most electrifying tailbacks in Omarion Hampton. And fans have something else to be excited about with the UNC uniforms this fall.
On Friday afternoon, the team unveiled in an official press release and video that they’ll be bringing back the foot helmet decals for the 2024 season.
It’s part of a points system that many teams across the country use to award players for making certain plays or accomplishments, and really, it’s one of the cooler parts what make college football so very great. For more on the points system, you can find an explanation in the release.
Here’s the video and the pictures the ‘Heels released on Friday, with the song, “Still Dre” by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg in the background.

As Brown put it in his press conference on Friday, Hampton remained in Chapel Hill amidst “four times as much money” being offered to him from elsewhere in NIL. That showed him just how incredibly loyal that the Tar Heel running back was to them.
“In modern day football, our fans talk about loyalty. He got offered four times as much money to leave as he would make to stay here and never even considered it,” said Brown. “Think about loyalty. I mean how much does that happen, modern day?”
Hampton figures to be the bus driver for the North Carolina offensive attack. He rushed for 1,504 yards and 15 touchdowns last season, firmly cementing his status as one of the nation’s best running backs. As a receiver, he also hauled in 29 catches for 222 yards and one touchdown.
He’ll be joined on the offensive side of the ball by tight end Bryson Nesbit. He’s hauled in over 500 receiving yards in back-to-back seasons the past years and figures to be an important weapon for quarterback Max Johnson and Conner Harrell. UNC head coach Mack Brown has indicated he wants to play both quarterbacks for the season. We’ll see how that plays out.
