North Carolina transfer quarterback Jacolby Criswell has signed to play for East Tennessee State in 2025, On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed. He spent four total seasons in Chapel Hill and will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Criswell played the first three seasons of his college career with the Tar Heels before transferring to Arkansas ahead of 2023. He played one year in Fayetteville before deciding to come back to North Carolina ahead of this season.

Criswell didn’t begin as the starter this past season but took over after Max Johnson went down with injury. He finished the year with 2,459 yards and 15 touchdowns to six interceptions.

As a recruit, Criswell was a four-star prospect out of Morrilton (AR) High School in 2020. He ranked as the No. 271 overall player and No. 20 quarterback in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He would go on to spend the next three seasons primarily as a backup at North Carolina before transferring to Arkansas. However, he again played a backup role for the Razorbacks before transferring back to Chapel Hill.

Jacolby Criswell also ranks as the No. 186 overall player and No. 19 quarterback according to On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings.

Washington CB transfer Thaddeus Dixon commits to North Carolina

Former Washington cornerback Thaddeus Dixon has committed to Bill Belichick and North Carolina out of the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Dixon, the No. 2-rated CB in the transfer portal per the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings, chose the Tar Heels over the likes of MichiganTennesseeOle Miss and a return to Washington.

Dixon has spent the last two seasons with Washington, including the national championship run in 2023. He has played a total of 26 games with the Huskies, recording 66 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, 18 PBUs, and forcing a fumble.

This year is when Dixon really stepped into a starting role, being first on the field in all but one game — Washington’s bowl game vs. Louisville.
