Former Oklahoma, LSU running back Tre Bradford enters NCAA transfer portal
Former LSU and Oklahoma running back Tre Bradford has re-entered the transfer portal, On3 has learned. Bradford appeared in seven games over three years with the Tigers. He entered the transfer portal in December, before committing to North Texas.
Tre Bradford is now on the move once again after leaving the Mean Green program.
Bradford has spent the majority of his career at LSU, although he did spend the summer of 2022 at Oklahoma. He did not play a game for the Sooners, before returning to the LSU program.
Tre Bradford totaled 70 yards and a touchdown over his time in Baton Rouge, but he only appeared in two total games over the last two seasons. He ran into eligibility issues during his career, which kept him away from the field.
Bradford played high school football at Lancaster (TX) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 149 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Bradford missed all of the 2022 season due to a shoplifting incident, before being allowed to return to the team.

Tigers coach Brian Kelly explained why he allowed Tre Bradford to return to the field.
“The thought process was just giving a man another chance,” Brian Kelly said. “He had a long road back. He had to get back into school on his own, we didn’t help him. He had to do everything and do it on his own.
“We told him, ‘Look, we’re open to second chances here, but this one is on you. You have to prove yourself to the University. And it’s going to be up to the University to decide whether or not they want to re-enroll you. We’re not making any calls, we’re not writing any letters. If you understand what the guidelines are, and you come here this summer, and our strength coaches sign off on you that you have done everything to warrant an opportunity, then we’ll invite you to camp.’ And both of those things happened, so he earned a second chance.”
LSU is coming off of a 10-3 season under head coach Brian Kelly. The former Notre Dame head coach has been with the Tigers for the past two seasons, leading LSU to 10 wins both years.
Kelly and the Tigers are hoping to be national title contenders in 2024.
