A former Texas high school head coach, Svoboda made the college to the level in 2018 with Rice. He worked for the Owls for three seasons as a running backs coach and special teams coordinator before a brief stint at Memphis during the 2021 offseason that preceded him being hired at Alabama.
At North Texas, Svoboda will work under Eric Morris, who was recently hired as the Mean Green’s new head coach after spending this season as the offensive coordinator at Washington State.
