Malvern (Pa.) William Penn Charter three-star point guard Jake West has committed to Northwestern. He chose the Wildcats over Florida, VCU, Charlotte and Coastal Carolina.

The 6-foot-3, 160-pound West participated in the Pangos All-American Camp in Las Vegas back in June and was named an overall top performer by On3.

Jake West has had a good Spring playing with Team Final on Nike’s EYBL Circuit,” On3 national recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw wrote at the time. “He is a connecting guard, able to act as a secondary initiator as well as a floor-spacing shot maker. What he showed throughout the weekend here was a very crafty handle with some breakdown abilities. West has a smooth shooting touch and he plays with good balance, able to step into a three off the bounce, knock down shots off movement, or space the floor as a stand-still shooter. His ability on the ball was interesting, he did not turn it over and was able to get to spots. The production was consistent and he did so with a little flair.”

West is the nation’s No. 131 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 18 point guard and No. 3 recruit from Pennsylvania.

Northwestern’s 2025 class up to 4 commitments

Chris Collins’ staff at Northwestern has been putting in serious work lately to bolster the Wildcats’ 2025 recruiting class. Chicago St. Ignatius combo guard Phoenix Gill was the first to join the group back in June, but it is the month of October where things have gotten especially interesting.

In addition to West, Northwestern has added commitments from Jeffersonville (Ind.) power forward Tre Singleton and Olentangy Liberty (Ohio) power forward Tyler Kropp. The two forwards stand at 6-foot-8 and 6-foot-7 respectively.
