How to watch Notre Dame vs. Oregon State
Time: 2 p.m. ET
Channel: (CBS), FuboTV (streaming)
Location: Sun Bowl – El Paso, Texas
Both Notre Dame and Oregon State fell short of their ultimate goals for the 2023 season. Notre Dame lost two heartbreaking games in three weeks to Ohio State and Louisville, respectively. Losing to Clemson to begin November did little to help their fate despite winning the final two games of the season.
Oregon State, on the other hand, began the season 8-2 before losing the final two games of their season to Washington and Oregon, respectively. Washington eked past the Beavers 22-20 on Nov. 18, while Oregon handed them their wort loss of the season 31-7.
The x-factor to consider heading into the matchup is the fact the Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei has entered the NCAA transfer portal and will not play in the bowl game. That’s only one of the several changes that have taken place in Corvallis, as former head coach Jonathan Smith has already high-tailed it to Michigan State to become their next headman.

Meanwhile, this game will serve as a swan song for quarterback Sam Hartman, who has been one of college football’s best quarterbacks over the last few seasons dating back to his time at Wake Forest. Harman will finish his college career with over 15,000 passing yards and over 134 passing touchdowns — the most in the country over the past six seasons.
A win for Notre Dame would also give the Fighting Irish its 10th victory of the season, which would be a first-time achievement under second-year head coach Marcus Freeman. After last year’s 9-4 finish after an incredibly shaky start that included a loss to Marshall, securing a 10-win season would be the perfect way to enter the offseason ahead of next year’s expanded College Football Playoff.
The opening kickoff between the Fighting Irish and Beavers is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET live on CBS. The over/under total is set at 46.5 total points. All odds are courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.
