Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star wide receiver Ny Carr decommitted from Georgia on Sunday, and a few teams are already emerging as the main contenders to land him.

Florida State, Miami and Auburn are among the schools that have been in contact with him the most, and the Tigers will host him for an unofficial visit this weekend when they host the Bulldogs.

Those schools have been in contact with Carr for months, even after he committed to UGA last July. Both Auburn and Florida State have hosted him for visits in that time, and the Hurricanes have now turned up the heat as well. Assistant coach Cody Woodiel stopped by Carr’s high school on Monday, less than 24 hours after his decommitment. Meanwhile, with FSU on a bye this week, the Seminoles are expected to also make a stop at Carr’s school.

Hurricanes and Seminoles going head-to-head

According to Warchant.com recruiting insider Michael Langston, it’s shaping up to be a two-team battle between the Sunshine State rival programs to land Carr.

“I went back there for a game, saw Ny Carr play and that was the weekend he was going to FSU-Southern Miss. And he told me ‘I love what the offense is doing.’ I think it’s FSU and Miami, those are the top two teams I think for him,” Langston told On3’s Josh Newberg. “And FSU, to me, has the momentum in this recruitment.

… You already have [high school teammate] Landen Thomas committed, you already have a proven product on the field. And he has already told me that he will be at that FSU-Miami game — that’s what he told me that week. I think FSU has kind of positioned themselves pretty well. I wouldn’t say they’re the team to beat for sure, but I would say they’ve position themselves well to pull this off.”

Ny Carr Recruiting Profile

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Carr is the No. 62 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 12 wide receiver and the No. 11 recruit in Florida.

Solid production as a sophomore with 40 catches for 856 yards and 13 touchdowns for one of the top high school programs in Georgia. Three-sport athlete that jumped a 5’10” high jump in 2021 who also plays basketball. All-around skill set for the position who will continue to improve as he physically develops into his frame.”

Through five games as a senior, Carr has totaled 34 catches for 589 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging just over 17 yards per reception.
