Nyk Lewis finished his sophomore season at Washington (DC) Gonzaga Collegiate as a first-team All-WCAC performer. Lewis is the No. 35 player in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting companies.
“I’m a pass-first point guard who can get my shot up when it is there,” Lewis told On3. “I like to get my teammates involved. I watch a lot of Collin Sexton, with his hunger. When Collin Sexton plays, he thinks he’s better than everybody; I love his hunger.”
On3 recently caught up with Nyk Lewis after a live viewing to catch up on his recruitment.
Lewis talks recruitment
“I currently have offers from George Mason, Seton Hall, LSU, Bryant, Virginia Tech, Maryland, and Kansas State,” Lewis said. “They can’t contact me directly, but I’d say we communicate the most with Virginia Tech. I’ve been on unofficials to Virginia Tech and Maryland.”
Virginia Tech: “They play with a lot of heart. They’re an offensive-minded team and surround their point guard with a lot of shooters. When I went on my unofficial there, I saw that it’s an entire community. It’s bigger than basketball there, and a lot of tradition there rooted in basketball.”

Maryland: “I went there for a basketball game, and I was able to see, from the fan’s perspective, they really care a lot about their tradition, the family, and just the Maryland program in general. They like my heart and how hard I play and can score it.”
In his words
“I want to go to a program that really loves me,” Lewis said. “A place where I can go and make an impact first and early. I’ll be looking at the academics, and I want to school to have a good environment around the campus.”
