Nyk Lewis breaks down his finalists
In a previous interview with On3, Nyk Lewis broke down his final six schools.
Xavier: “Me and the coaching staff have been in contact since June 15th of last year and we have built a great relationship. Me, coach Cohen and Miller talk almost every day. The program is heading in a positive direction and should be at the top of the Big East soon. They are in my list based off their commitment to me.”
Seton Hall: “I am in close contact with coach Davis and Holloway. I like how they critique my games and always find something to help me get better. I love the style of basketball Seton Hall plays, very fast paced and I like the coaching style of coach Holloway. He really brings the best out of his point guards.”
LSU: “They have been involved since June 15th of last year and all of the staff has been in contact with me. The visit I went on was great and the campus was beautiful. LSU is looking to make a jump this year from middle of the SEC to finishing higher in the top 4 of the conference so that should be good.”

Michigan: “Coach Boyton from Oklahoma State has done a great job of recruiting me at Michigan
along with Dusty May who has seen me all summer.”
Georgetown: “Coach Cooley has been involved and in contact with me since my sophomore year and Georgetown is very close to home. The rebuild of Georgetown over the next coming years will be great and coach Cooley is an amazing coach and person.
Creighton: “I have always liked Creighton’s style of play and offense and I am looking to visit there and learn more about them in the coming weeks. Coach McDermott and coach Kellog have been in contact with me. I know coach McDermott is a great coach.”
Scouting Report
“Nyk Lewis is a paint touch guard. Listed in the 6-1 range, he has long arms with a sturdy base and good balance. Lewis has a crafty handle along with quick-twitch athleticism that gets him to where he wants to go on the court. Not only does he touch the paint on offense, but he also prevents the other team from touching the paint while guarding the point of attack. Lewis will need to continue tightening the jump shot. He is comfortable pulling up, stepping into his shots off the bounce and knocking them down. Things can get streaky shooting from beyond the arc. He is aggressive on both ends which helps him to be an active rebounder from the point guard position. He is on the shorter side, so his ability to heat up the point of attack is important. Lewis is competitive in every setting and simply exudes toughness on the court.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
