Ohio State announces game time change for Saturday game at Michigan State
Ohio State announced a time change for its Big Ten opener against Michigan State this weekend. The Buckeyes hit the road to take on the Spartans in primetime.
However, the game was originally set for a 7:00 p.m. ET time start. It’ll be a little later now, according to Associate AD Jerry Emig.
Ohio State and Michigan State will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday and will be streamed on Peacock.
Going into this game, the Buckeyes are 3-0 fresh off a 49-14 win over Marshall. However, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day called it a “mixed bag.”
“Sort of a mixed bag,” Day said, regarding Ohio State’s performance. “I thought the offense was really explosive today, and the defense got some good stops in there, but we were just a little sloppy in certain areas. So, we’ll take a look at the film and get them fixed.”
Continuing, Day also spoke on the offensive performance from the Buckeyes, as they’ve been stout on that side of the ball in 2024. According to Day, they’re still finding their identity under Chip Kelly, but the future is looking bright.

“More balanced, you know, and more of the same,” Day said, regarding what Ohio State’s offense will look like moving forward. “You know, we’re still trying to find our identity there, but I think, for the most part, I really think those guys are playing hard. I think the offensive line played hard. I thought the running backs played hard. I thought Will [Howard] played well, made good decisions. The receivers did a great job of, you know, running after the catch in this game, and on the perimeter blocking.
“So, you can see when the balance is going well, that we can be explosive. So again, it’s just finding our identity, but it’s a good start.”
Ohio State set for primetime showdown with Michigan State
Ohio State is a heavy favorite, per FanDuel. Good luck to the Spartans on Saturday night.
Heading into Week 5, FanDuel believes Ohio State should be feeling themselves next weekend, as they’re currently favored by 24.5 points ahead of their matchup. As of right now, the over/under is set at 49.5 points.
Meanwhile, Michigan State has been going through some wholesale changes, with the hiring of Jonathan Smith as their new head coach. After three straight wins to open the season, the Spartans went on the road to face Boston College, falling short 23-19.
