Ohio State vs. Maryland preview

Before falling to Indiana 74-64 on the road Thursday night, the Maryland Terrapins were playing some of their best basketball of the season. They pushed No. 3 Purdue to the limit on the road 62-61 on Feb. 13 before rolling past Nebraska and Penn State in consecutive games.

Ohio State on the other hand is coming off a fantastic performance against No. 15 Illinois on Thursday, taking down the Fighting Illini on their home floor 86-83. Malaki Branham scored an impressive 31 points on 10-14 shooting while EJ Liddell and Kyle Young combined for 39 points themselves. No other Buckeye scored more than 6 points.

More importantly, however, is that the Buckeye defense forced National Player of the Year candidate Kofi Cockburn to just 12 points and three rebounds — something not many teams can attest to this season, judging by the fact that Cockburn averages 21.2 points and 10.8 rebounds per outing.
