4-star PF A'mare Bynum commits to Ohio State
A’mare Bynum, a four-star power forward in the 2025 class, has committed to Ohio State and head coach Jake Diebler, he told On3.
The 6-8 senior out of Link Academy (MO) ultimately chose the Buckeyes over Nebraska and Xavier. He also received offers from Colorado, Iowa, and others.
Bynum is the No. 87 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 19 power forward prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Bynum on his commitment to Ohio State
Bynum discussed his decision with On3.
“I chose Ohio State because of coach Diebler and the way they play. I would say it felt like family and (Diebler) talks to me mostly every day and checks in on me and came to see me at school.”

In his own words, what type of player is Ohio State getting in A’mare Bynum?
“I would describe my game as a very versatile forward that can space the floor.”
He has a message for Buckeye fans.
“Ohio State fans are getting a dog.”
Bynum was MVP of NBA Academy Games
Newest Buckeye A’mare Bynum was recently named the MVP of the NBA Academy Games, according to On3’s Jamie Shaw:
“A’mare Bynum was a matchup issue in each of his games. Paired off with the opposing team’s center, Bynum would face up from the mid-post and attack downhill off the bounce. He can knock down shot, but he was at his best here using his ball skills to create an advantage. Bynum does have some defensive questions, but he is an active rebounder and does not shy away from contact. He finished with 24 points while going 10-16 from the field with eight rebounds in the morning game on Thursday.”
