Ohio State Five-Star Plus+ WR commit Jeremiah Smith reacts to Dylan Raiola's commitment
At one point Ohio State held commitments from Dylan Raiola and Jeremiah Smith. That didn’t last long though as Smith committed to the Buckeyes on Dec. 14 and Raiola decommitted from Ohio State three days later.
A reunion between the two may still be possible though. Raiola announced his commitment to Georgia on Monday ending months of speculation of where he might end up.
That decision is one that caught the attention of Smith
“Georgia getting Dylan means a lot to me and my interest in them,” Smith told On3. “I have to really give Georgia a look now that they have Dylan.”
A flip from Ohio State to Georgia would be massive for the Bulldogs as they currently boast the top two recruiting classes in the country. Raiola and Smith are both Five-Star Plus+ prospects ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the On3 Industry Ranking.
Georgia continued push for Smith
Smith’s visited Georgia twice during his recruitment including his latest visit on March 11. He’s set to return to Athens on May 19 for an official visit and will also take official visits to Florida (June 2) and Ohio State (June 9).

Smith told On3’s Jeremy Johnson after the visit to Georgia in March that he was still locked in with Ohio State but that Georgia was pushing hard for him.
“It was a great visit overall,” Smith told Johnson. “I wanted to see more things and meet Coach Kirby (Smart) too, but he was on vacation… Georgia is a cool program. They’ve won two national championships. How can you not like Georgia? They have a great defense. They have a spread offense that can pass the ball and run the ball. They have balance.”
In that interview Smith talked about his relationship with Georgia wide receiver coach Bryan McClendon and got a peek into what Mike Bobo’s version of Georgia’s offense will look like.
“He’s a great coach,” Smith said of McClendon. “He’s a player’s coach. You can talk to him about anything, I can already see that.”
