Phoenix Sandra Day O’Connor offensive tackle Tucker Smith has committed to Ohio State, he tells On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

He chose the Buckeyes over offers from the likes of USC, Arizona, Penn State, Kansas State and Minnesota. He’s the second offensive line pledge in as many days for Buckeyes OL coach Tyler Bowen, as Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban four-star OT Sam Greer committed on Tuesday.

Smith is currently unranked in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, but is considered a three-star recruit by multiple services.

Ohio State extended an offer to Smith while on a spring visit last week. Just five days later, he’s now in the boat for head coach Ryan Day and Co. The 6-foot-5, 280-pounder joins a 2026 class in Columbus that now features seven commits and ranks No. 6 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Headlining the pledge list is Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr., the No. 14 recruit in the cycle. Henry has been committed since July 28, 2023, and while Oregon continues to push for a flip, he remains locked in with Brian Hartline and Co. He’s also the No. 2 wideout in the nation.

“Honestly, I knew (Hartline) wasn’t gonna leave. Him being from Ohio, he bleeds Ohio State, I knew he was gonna stay so I wasn’t really worried about it at all,” Henry told On3’s Josh Newberg over the weekend. “We’re real close, we talk about every week. We always have good talks, chop it up, we’ve been building this relationship since eighth grade.”

Avon Lake (Ohio) four-star interior offensive lineman Max Riley is also a recent addition to the class, ranking as the No. 133 recruit and No. 8 IOL overall. Avon (Ohio) four-star athlete Jakob Weatherspoon is a top-200 recruit, while Pataskala (Ohio) Watkins Memorial four-star WR Jaeden Ricketts is a top-30 receiver in the On300.

Jacksonville Bolles School three-star tight end Corbyn Fordham rounds out the class as a top-400 recruit alongside Smith. Fordham and Ricketts each committed back in November.
