Oradell (NJ) Bergen Catholic On300 cornerback Jordan Thomas will play his college football at Ohio State.

The four-star blue-chipper chose the Buckeyes over Michigan, Notre Dame, Auburn and Texas A&M among others.

Thomas announced his plans on the On3 YouTube Channel and spoke with us about his decision prior to going public with his pledge.

“It was the best overall fit,” Thomas said. “They checked off all the boxes when it comes to developing a genuine relationship with me from day one. They’ve been consistent with their development in all aspects of life including my faith, academically, as a man, my character and in football. I think there is no better school to develop me in those aspects of life.”

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Thomas is tabbed by the On3 Industry as the nation’s No. 19 cornerback and No. 185 prospect overall. He becomes commit No. 13 for head coach Ryan Day and Ohio State in the 2026 class. Prior to Thomas’s announcement the Buckeyes had the On3 Industry’s No. 3 class.

“The like-minded individuals there that can help challenge me not only to reach my goals but to reach team goals as well like winning a National Championship.”

Ohio State’s staff big in landing Jordan Thomas

Cornerbacks coach Tim Walton was the lead recruiter for Thomas. He got a chance to already tell him he was coming to Ohio State.

“It was very exciting,” Thomas said. “He said the Best in America, BIA, just got way better.”

New defensive coordinator Matt Patricia also was a major factor in Thomas’s decision.

“Meeting Coach Patricia was definitely something that put the cherry on top,” Thomas said. “His defensive plan for me and his legendary NFL experience with three Super Bowl championship rings added the cherry on top and I want to play for someone like that.

“Coach Walton, Coach Day and Coach Patricia have a plan for me and I’m ready to be a Buckeye.”
