Ohio State, Michigan brawl at midfield after Wolverines upset Buckeyes
A scuffle broke out at the end of the Michigan–Ohio State game as Wolverines’ players attempted to plant their ‘M’ flag at midfield. This came on the heels of Michigan’s 13-10 upset win over the No. 2 Buckeyes.
Both teams came together at the middle of the field with plenty of pushing and shoving. Following the scuffle, Ohio State EDGE defender Jack Sawyer stole the Michigan flag and threw it to the side and attempted to rip it.

“For such a great game, you hate to see stuff like that after the game. It’s just bad for the sport, bad for college football,” Michigan RB Kalel Mullings said after the brawl on the FOX broadcast. “But at the end of the day, some people, they’ve got to learn how to lose. You can’t be fighting and stuff just because you lost the game. All that fighting, we had 60 minutes, we had four quarters to do all that fighting. Now, people want to talk and fight. That’s wrong. It’s just bad for the game. Classless, in my opinion. People got to be better.”
Things took a turn for the worse as it appeared Ohio State police used pepper spray on players to disperse the crowd.
Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore spoke with FOX’s Jenny Taft prior to the brawl to sum up the Wolverines’ fourth straight win over Ohio State.

“These guys, man, guys like Mason Graham, guys like Kenneth Grant … the offensive line. I mean, you talk about a gritty performance by a bunch of guys. I mean, I love these dudes,” Moore said. ‘These guys are the heart of the program. This is why you come to Michigan, right here. Guys like this, to win this game. Let’s go, baby. Love you. Talk to him, all right?”
Moore pivoted to Graham, who was standing next to him. Graham managed to get a few words in before Michigan and Ohio State started their fight.
“I mean that’s always mindset of this game, you know, you know it’s gonna be won up front,” Graham said. “We pride ourselves on that here at Michigan but, you know, that’s what we are. That’s what Michigan does man.”
