The Ohio StateMichigan State game is set for the 2023 season with a primetime scheduled contest. The Buckeyes and Spartans face off Nov. 11 at the horseshoe.

In a new television year for the Big Ten, where NBC is now in the rotation for the conference, Ohio State and Michigan State will play on the network that Saturday night. It’s set for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff, according to the release.

Buckle up college football fans, NBC gets a marquee Big Ten matchup under the lights.

Both teams have intriguing storylines going into the 2023 campaign. Ohio State wants to get back to the College Football Playoff but failed to beat Michigan and win the Big Ten over the last two years.

Still, Day has renewed optimism for Ohio State going into the 2023 season.

“I think when you leave the spring you get a feel for where things are, and when you start the spring, it’s hard and I think you hear me say or I’ll say that we’ll get through the spring and we’ll have a better feeling,” Day said. “So, coming out of the spring, I do. I think the first thing was the back end explosives.”

Day has a 45-6 record as the head coach at Ohio State. He has taken the Buckeyes as far as the national championship game, though Ohio State hasn’t won one under Day to this point. However, if he’s right to be optimistic, that could change sooner than later.

Tucker exploded onto the scene in 2021 with 11 wins at Michigan State. But the team failed to make a bowl game in 2022 and Tucker’s long term contract came under fire.

Notable players like Payton Thorne and Keon Coleman entered the transfer portal. Now, Tucker is trying to go back to his roots: embrace competition everywhere.

Tucker went on to say that the staff is evaluating these competitions individually. They’re willing to get flexible if more than one player steps up at a specific spot. That’s their policy as, considering he recruited these players to the program, he wants to see as many of them make a difference for Michigan State as possible.

“It’s always case by case. If it’s even with guys? And both guys (make us) feel like they give us the best chance to win with two or three guys to play at one position? We’ll do that if we feel like they give us the best chance,” Tucker said. “We want as many guys to be out there playing as possible. (I) don’t bring guys here to sit. We bring them here to play. We’ll just have to see how it goes. That’s at any position.”
