Ohio State’s tradition of star wide receivers will continue with Quincy Porter, who was named a five-star prospect ranked No. 13 overall in the final 2025 On300 rankings on Thursday.

The final edition of the 2025 On300 features 32 five-star prospects, up from 25 in the previous update in November.

Porter has risen quickly through the ranks following an impressive senior season at Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic. In 12 games, Porter caught 57 passes for 969 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was first named a five-star recruit by On3 in the November update of the On300.

Over his three seasons at the varsity level, Porter reeled in 38 touchdowns and over 2,600 receiving yards.

The 6-foot-3.5, 200-pound Porter committed to Ohio State on June 14, 2024 over Penn State and Michigan. He stuck with the Buckeyes through National Signing Day despite a strong push from Penn State down the stretch. He is the highest-rated Buckeye in the final release of the On300, making it three consecutive classes in which Ohio State has signed an On3 five-star receiver.

Porter adds his name to the long list of talented receivers in Columbus

Porter participated in the Navy All-American Bowl in San Antonio earlier in January, where he was named a top performer by On3 against dozens of elite players from across the country.

“Quincy Porter looked like the top wide receiver prospect at the Navy All-American Bowl,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power wrote. “For starters, no wideout on hand looked better physically. At 6-foot-3.5 and 200 pounds with elite arm length, Porter is how you draw them up as an outside, X-receiver. The New Jersey native pairs his considerable frame with an advanced technical skill set. He looked like the top route-runner on the East team throughout the week, showing the ability to toggle speeds and break off his routes on a dime.

“Porter also flashed strong ball skills, using great technique and hand placement. While he wasn’t always a high-volume target in practice, Porter won the majority of his reps and showed off his skills in Saturday’s game by making a handful of impressive grabs. A year after having a breakout star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith in this game, the Buckeyes have another Navy All-American Bowl standout headed to Columbus.”
