Evidently, Sooners fans will have their first opportunity to get in on the fun during Oklahoma’s Week 1 showdown with the Temple Owls. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. ET on Friday evening, and it could be the start of a special season in Norman.

Brent Venables gives update on Nic Anderson injury ahead of season opener vs. Temple

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma Sooners dropped their depth chart on Sunday evening, just a few days ahead of their season opener matchup against the Temple Owls.

Shortly after the depth chart was released, Sooners’ head coach Brent Venables went on his coaches show and offered up some clarity on a couple of positions, including wide receiver Nic Anderson.

He said that Anderson has been limited in practice and is listed as ‘day-to-day’ this week. He ‘has a chance’ to play against Temple on Friday, according to George Stoia III of Sooner Scoop.

Anderson figures to be a key piece to the Sooners’ aerial attack in 2024. Last season, he hauled in 38 catches for 798 yards and 10 touchdowns. Plenty of people have him keyed up for big year this fall. He’ll be joined in the Oklahoma receiving corps by Deion Burks. He had a breakout year last fall for the Purdue Boilermakers, when he hauled in 47 catches for 629 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

Coming out of Katy High School (Katy, Texas), Anderson was tabbed as a four-star prospect in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
