Running the ball might be tougher than Nik Bonitto thought. The Oklahoma linebacker scooped up a fumble on the first Kansas State drive Saturday. Forced by Reggie Grimes, Bonitto picked up the ball and returned it 70 yards into the Wildcats redzone.

He couldn’t finish the run off for a touchdown, though. The return was the longest fumble return in Oklahoma history, despite not having enough gas to finish off the play.

Bonitto took to Twitter to share his frustration, but also found the hilarity in it all.

“Damn running the ball harder than I thought,” he wrote with a laughing emoji.

His teammate and Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler replied, sharing in the fun. The Sooners ended Kansas State’s two game win streak against Oklahoma with a 37-31 victory.

A redshirt junior outside linebacker, Bonitto has emerged as one of the top pass rushers in the nation. A second-team All-American last season, he finished with 32 tackles and 10.5 for loss. Through five games this year, the 6-foot-3 edge rusher has 2.5 sacks and 11 total tackles.

College GameDay heading to Oklahoma vs. Texas

ESPN’s College GameDay officially has its Week 6 destination, and it’s a classic.

The GameDay crew will be Dallas for the annual Red River Showdown between the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners.

The Oklahoma Sooners remain undefeated with a 5-0 record heading into Week 6. Quarterback Spencer Rattler led the Sooners over Kansas State 37-31 to keep the loss column clear.

This season, Oklahoma has beaten Tulane, Western Carolina, Nebraska, West Virginia and Kansas.

Unlike OU, Texas is heading into the game with an imperfect record. The Longhorns took down TCU 32-27 on Saturday. A week two loss versus Arkansas is their only blemish. The Horns have also notched wins versus Louisiana, Rice and Texas Tech.

Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET on Saturday at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
