Texas won its last time out, a 69-61 win over West Virginia. The Longhorns railed 28-26 at halftime before outscoring the Mountaineers by 10 in the final 20 minutes.

Marcus Carr was the top scorer for Texas and finished with 23 points, 3 rebounds and three assists. Dylan Disu added 13 points, five rebounds and two assists while Tyrese Hunter and Christian Bishop added 11 points each.

“Just another night in the Big 12 against a hall-of-fame coach,” head coach Rodney Terry said after the win. “A coach that we have a tremendous amount of respect for, coming off a big win this past week against a really good TCU team. We knew that they were gonna be ready to play.

“We were gonna have to come out and bring our best game tonight in terms of how hard we were gonna try to compete and have an incredible, competitive spirit. This wasn’t gonna be easy.”

Oklahoma State also won its last time out with a 61-59 upset win over No. 12 Iowa State Saturday.

Avery Anderson led the way with 18 points, three rebounds and five assists. Kalib Boone added 13 points, two rebounds and one assist.

Now, the Cowboys have an opportunity for a second straight upset over a Big 12 foe.
