Former Oklahoma wide receiver Jaquaize Pettaway has found his new home. Pettaway has committed to East Carolina, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

Jaquaize Pettaway is headed to ECU after spending two seasons at Oklahoma. The class of 2023 recruit appeared in 11 games this past season, finishing with five catches for 87 yards.

Pettaway signed with Oklahoma after attending Langham Creek High in Houston. He was ranked as a four-star recruit, the No. 87 overall player in the country, and the No. 17 receiver in the nation in the class of 2023, per the On3 Industry Rankings.

Pettaway was an immediate contributor for Oklahoma out of high school, appearing in nine games and catching 11 passes for 70 yards. Now, he is heading to an East Carolina team that is led by head coach Blake Harrell, who was named the ECU head coach in November. Harrell was named the interim head coach in October and helped the Pirates to a 7-5 record in 2024.

“This is a tremendous honor to lead the East Carolina Football program,” Harrell said in a statement. “I would like to thank Chancellor (Philip) Rogers, Athletic Director Jon Gilbert, and members of the East Carolina Board of Trustees for this opportunity.

“Pirate Nation is second to none and our family is fortunate to call Greenville home. The passion everyone has for East Carolina athletics can be seen daily. We look forward to continuing our journey with this team and are excited about playing inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium this weekend and recognizing our senior class.”

Arkansas WR transfer Isaiah Sategna commits to Oklahoma

While Oklahoma lost receiver Pettaway to the transfer portal, the Sooners recently signed former Arkansas receiver Isaiah Sategna from the portal.

Spending three seasons in Fayetteville, Sategna caught 37 passes totaling 491 yards and a touchdown for the Razorbacks during the 2024 season. He was also used on special teams.

He will have two years of eligibility remaining to play for Brent Venables and the Sooners. He spent three seasons with Arkansas overall but caught two passes for 12 yards in two appearances as a true freshman. He used his redshirt that season to preserve his eligibility.

Sategna was the second-leading receiver on the Razorbacks offense in 2024, behind the 1,000-yard season of Andrew Armstrong.
