LOOK: Lane Kiffin, Caleb Williams exchange jabs on Twitter

When Caleb Williams went to take the field for his first spring practice at USC, he ran past the entrance to the field. A video of the moment went viral on Twitter, and it caught the attention of Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin — who took a jab at Williams during a hilarious exchange.
It all started with Williams retweeting the video saying “It’s only my first day here lol.” That’s when Kiffin weighed in on the wrong turn and made sure to point the new USC quarterback in the right direction.
“Turn right,” Kiffin tweeted, with a laughing emoji.
Shortly after, Williams responded in kind.
“Appreciate it Lane,” Williams tweeted. “Got it next time!”
It’s safe to say he won’t forget where to go the next time he takes the field.
Kiffin, of course, is familiar with the USC campus since he coached the Trojans from 2010 to 2013. But he’s also known as one of the biggest Twitter trolls in college football, which is why it wasn’t totally surprising he had some fun at Williams’ expense.
How Lane Kiffin, Lincoln Riley used the transfer portal this offseason
Not only is Kiffin one of the more prominent Twitter personalities in college football, but he also did work in the transfer portal this offseason. He previously dubbed himself the “Portal King” before passing along the mantle to new USC coach Lincoln Riley after he landed Williams from Oklahoma.

In fact, Riley brought in 13 transfers this offseason, including two top-15 players in the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings — Williams and fellow Oklahoma transfer Mario Williams. Ironically, Kiffin landed the quarterback Williams is replacing at USC. Jaxson Dart committed to Ole Miss and was On3’s No. 2-ranked player in the portal, just behind Williams.
All told, Kiffin brought in 15 transfers. In addition to Dart, he got TCU transfer running back Zach Evans to, as he says, “Transfer to the Sip.” Evans was the No. 8 transfer in the portal, according to the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings.
