Ole Miss expected to hire NC State’s John Garrison as offensive line coach
Ole Miss is expected to hire NC State’s John Garrison as offensive line coach, sources tell On3.
Garrison, who has been the Wolfpack’s offensive line coach since 2019, previously worked under Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin at FAU in 2018.
He’d be the replacement for Jake Thornton, who left Ole Miss to become the new offensive line coach at Auburn.
Garrison, a former Nebraska offensive lineman and co-captain, has developed players such as former NC State All-American offensive tackle Ikem Ekwonu. Under Garrison, Ekwonu developed from a three-star recruit into a top-10 NFL draft pick. He was selected by the Carolina Panthers with the No. 6 overall pick in this year’s NFL draft.

Ekwonu is one of three All-ACC selections Garrison has produced the last two years at NC State. Guard Chander Zavala was a first-team selection this year.
Before NC State and FAU, Garrison was the offensive line coach at FAU (2015-17) and Nebraska (2013-14).
