Ole Miss jumps into race for 4-star RB

Thursday evening, Ole Miss offered one of the top prospects in the state of California. Oaks Christian (Calif.) running back Deshonne Redeaux announced he had received an offer from Ole Miss running backs coach Kevin Smith.
The 5-foot-10, 180 pound prospect recently told On3’s Hayes Fawcett he was down to Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, UCLA, Southern cal and Washington.
Redeaux is the No. 159 overall prospect and No. 14 running back in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average which utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 17 player in California.
As a junior, Redeaux ran for over 1,200 yards and 17 touchdowns. The Lions won nine games and finished as the No. 20 team in California, per the On3 Composite Rankings. He’s also been clocked as fast as 10.50 in the 100m dash.
For now, Ole Miss is running behind in the race for Deshonne Redeaux.
It looks like Oregon, Southern Cal and UCLA are in the lead. He recently spoke with On3’s Chad Simmons about the three programs. The Ducks seem to have his attention and then some.

“From the time, I got there at the airport, everyone was checking on me and making sure I was good,” Redeaux told On3’s Chad Simmons. “They showed me from the start that they cared about me. Coach Lanning spent a lot of time with me, coach Samples went into great detail with me and so many things showed me what I mean to them.
“It will be about how the staff and people treat me,” Redeaux said. “Life outside of football is also something I am looking hard at. I will know about the football stuff at the schools I am looking at, so I want to know more about life outside of football and if the coaches care about the players. Those types of things will matter.”
