Houston quietly locked down a commitment from hometown Legacy School four-star quarterback Keisean Henderson back in May of 2024.

While he may have flown under the radar then, Henderson’s recruitment has totally blown up, especially after earning MVP honors at Navy All-American Bowl week earlier this month. He’s caught the eye of many heading into the spring and has now added another big offer to his list on Thursday.

Ole Miss is the latest to jump in the mix for the 6-foot-3, 170-pounder:

Lane Kiffin and the Rebels didn’t take a QB in the 2025 cycle and currently have just one pledge in their 2026 class, as of Jan. 16. They are now the eighth reported SEC offer for Henderson. Auburn offered over the weekend.

Henderson is the No. 18 overall prospect and No. 5 QB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Texas.

Not every school in touch with Henderson have prioritized him as a QB prospect, more looking at him as an athlete. Houston recruited Henderson as a signal-caller and made some serious impressions while he was on campus, helping the Cougars land his pledge during the summer.

“It feels like home,” Henderson previously told On3. “Those are the words that I would use. It’s home.”

Henderson’s stock rising after big showing at All-American Bowl

After impressing all week in San Antonio at the Navy All-American Bowl, Henderson earned On3 MVP honors and was named a major stock riser by On3’s Scouting and Rankings Team. He earned a glowing review by National Scout Cody Bellaire:

“As we have seen in his ability as a passer throughout his high school journey, we were able to see steady improvement each day of practice, culminating with an On3 MVP performance by the end of Navy All-American Bowl week. Henderson displayed whippy arm action to get the ball out effectively from multiple arm slots. He also showed the fastball during the routes-on-air and 7-on-7 periods in practice. Henderson’s deliberate movements in the pocket during the game and 11-on-11 periods made us do a double take,” Bellaire wrote.

“The dynamic athletic ability paired and calmness while navigating the pocket showed the most translatable skills we’ve seen from him as a quarterback to this point. Henderson put it all together during the game with one of the best reps we saw from any quarterback at the event. During the second quarter he climbed in the pocket, evaded a sack, rolled left while opening his hips, firing a moonshot on a deep post for a 91-yard touchdown. It was at that moment we knew that this quarterback is much more than an athlete.”

Henderson is currently one of three commits in Houston’s 2026 recruiting class. Head coach Willie Fritz and his staff will continue to try and keep one of the hottest prospects in the nation home.
