Ole Miss visits USC quarterback commit Devin Brown
The mountain view at Corner Canyon High School’s football stadium is pretty awesome. But Ole Miss offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby didn’t travel halfway across the country to look at the Rockies.
No, Lebby was in Draper, Utah, to see USC quarterback commit Devin Brown, whom the Rebels offered a scholarship earlier this week. That offer came on the heels of the Trojans firing head coach Clay Helton after just two games in 2021. Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin has a little history with USC, and current Rebels quarterback Matt Corral was once committed to the Trojans—though that was before Kiffin was hired in 2019.

The Rebels, without a quarterback of their own in the 2022 class, have gone to work out west. They hosted California commit Justyn Martin last weekend, and he promptly decommitted from the Golden Bears this week. And now, they’re making a run at Brown, who said he was committed to the Trojans even after Helton’s firing. The No. 78 overall player in the 2022 On300, Brown chose USC over offers from Oregon State, Northwestern and Michigan State.
Ole Miss offered him earlier this week, and he’s now planning to visit October 8. It might be a race between he and Martin to commit to the Rebels first, but the biggest winner of all: Lane Kiffin.
