Four new five-stars in updated 2022 On300
On3 is set to release the penultimate update of the 2022 On300 next week. Four prospects are set to add their fifth star, bringing the total number of five-star prospects in the On300 to 24.
The senior is always a crucial evaluation point in our rankings process. The past few months have provided ample opportunity for close evaluation of how top 2022 prospects are performing on Friday nights.
The four new five-stars are presented below, in alphabetical order. The numerical order will be revealed next week.
QB Drew Allar – Penn State
Drew Allar has been the top quarterback in On3’s 2022 rankings since the initial release (which coincided with Quinn Ewers’ reclassification). The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder has made a strong case as the top arm talent in the cycle for well over a year, but he’s taken his game to a new level this fall.
Allar is in the midst of a dominant senior season, leading his Medina (Ohio) High team to a 13-0 record and into the third round of the playoffs in Ohio’s largest classification. The Penn State commit has completed 278 of 452 passes for 4,134 yards and 47 touchdowns against just four interceptions. He’s asl rushed for 497 yards and nine more scores.
We’ve seen Allar continue to level up with his skill and feel for the game. This is much more than just a big-armed passer who slings the ball around. Allar makes some difficulty, small window passes with regularity. The field vision and spatial awareness combined with this arm dexterity and ability to deliver from multiple platforms is unique. Additionally, Allar isn’t sitting back in the pocket untouched. He often plays from an empty set and is forced to make second reaction plays and quick decisions when blitzed. He’s playing with supreme confidence and the game is moving slow.

OT Kelvin Banks – Oregon
Kelvin Banks becomes the third 2022 offensive lineman to earn a fifth star from On3, joining Kiyaunta Goodwin and Devon Campbell. The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder has been among the nation’s best at the position for a few years, but we’ve seen him continue to improve as a senior. Banks is combining his high-level length and fluid movement skills with some aggression and physicality in the run game. We’ve watched several of his games at Humble (Texas) Summer Creek and the continued progression is easy to see. Banks’ light feet, sturdy base, long arms and natural power are beginning to manifest in a dominant high school offensive lineman.

CB Toriano Pride – Clemson
Toriano Pride is putting together a very strong senior season after transferring to powerhouse East St. Louis (Ill.) High. The 2022 cycle is loaded at cornerback and Pride has a strong case for the best senior video of the bunch. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder has outstanding man cover skills with the ability to redirect and mirror wide receivers off the line of scrimmage and downfield. Pride also has some of the better verified athleticism among the deep corner group along with a 6-foot-4 wingspan. Those technical skills and physical traits have showed up on the field this fall.
RB Nick Singleton – Penn State
Nick Singleton has separated himself as the top running back in the 2022 cycle. The 6-foot, 210-pounder hits all the critical factors for the position in terms of athleticism, build, skills and production.
You don’t have to squint to see a top running back prospect when watching Singleton. He plays with an exceptional burst and runs with outstanding body lean. Singleton is a twitchy, violent runner and plays up to his 10.89 second 100-meter speed. He runs through contact at the second level with regularity. The Penn State commit is dominating the competition as a senior, rushing for 1,718 yards (14.3 yards per carry) and 36 touchdowns on just 120 carries, at last check.
