Ten 2022 prospects who make their On300 debut
On3 will update our 2022 prospect rankings on Tuesday with a new release of the On300. Most 2022 prospects are several weeks into their senior seasons, giving us ample source material from what is the most crucial evaluation point for most. Naturally we have several new entrants into the On300 – 17 in total.
Let’s talk about what we like about ten of the notable newcomers.
LB Abdul Carter – Penn State
Few linebackers in the 2022 cycle look to have a size and speed combination better than Carter. The Penn State commit has posted sub 4.6 40-yard dash times at 6-foot-3, 230 pounds.
We’re seeing those traits transfer over to the field this fall. Carter is an explosive run and strike linebacker for Glenside (Pa.) La Salle College. He plays at full speed, flashing as a blitzer and pass rusher in addition to tracking down plays in pursuit and defending the run. While Carter has the stature and skills to potentially be an edge rusher at the next level, his length projects more to an off-ball linebacker role. He is one of two commits from the Nittany Lions’ strong class to move into the On300.
IOL Tristan Wilson – Missouri
In reviewing his senior video, Wilson jumped out as an obvious rankings riser. The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder from Lebanon, Missouri is a mauling presence on the interior. Wilson fires off the snap and plays with outstanding pad level and leverage. He’s an explosive, strong athlete.
Given how he looks on video, it’s not surprising to learn Wilson is also a top thrower in track and field, throwing the shot put over 51 feet as a junior. The in-state prospect is one of two Missouri commits to move into the On300 in this release. Eli Drinkwitz is putting together his best class in Columbia to date, with Wilson being among the crown jewels.
LB Aaron Alexander – Michigan
Alexander entered his junior season as a bit of an unknown playing alongside a bevy of Power Five prospects at Belleville (Mich.) High. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder made plays on both sides of the ball at running back and linebacker. The athleticism is readily apparent. Alexander’s first-step quickness and top-end speed pop. He closes quickly while playing linebacker and shows off an impressive burst at running back. The speed shows up on the track as well, with Alexander posting a 11.11 second 100-meter time as a junior.
We project Alexander as a linebacker long-term. While he might not have had some of the early buzz as some other prospects at Belleville, we see some intriguing potential here in what looks to be a strong evaluation by the Michigan staff.
IOL Patrick Kutas – Arkansas
Patrick Kutas was considered a defensive line prospect early in his recruitment, but projects as an offensive lineman in Fayetteville. The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder is a two-way lineman for Memphis (Tenn.) Christian Brothers.
Kutas moves like a defensive lineman who is playing on offense. The functional athleticism and movement skills are apparent on his senior video. The Arkansas pledge moves seamlessly to the second level with top notch agility. He also shows strong hands and the ability to finish blocks. Similar to Tristan Wilson, Kutas also touts a shot put toss over 50 feet – a positive athletic maker for offensive linemen.
S Davison Igbinosun – Rutgers
We made note of the Rutgers commit’s big senior season a few weeks ago. Nothing has changed since then – Igbinosun remains an obvious stock up prospect for us at On3.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder is a dynamic three-way player at Union (N.J) High. We love to see defensive back prospects make plays on offense as prospects, as it is a positive indicator of ball skills and overall athleticism and playmaking ability. That’s been the case with Igbinosun. He’s made a bevy of big plays on offense as a receiver and running back in addition to the return game. On defense, Igbinosun is lining up at safety and showing range in coverage and ball skills.
DL Gracen Halton – Oregon
The Oregon commit is a disruptive presence along the defensive front at San Diego (Calif.) St. Augustine. Halton often plays as a stand-up pass rusher and shows first-step quickness, fast hands, dip and bend off the edge.
The 6-foot-3, 260-pounder is physical at the point of attack, tracks plays down in pursuit and finishes with explosion. Halton is a solid athlete and is having a productive senior season with 40 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 3 sacks thus far.

CB Xavion Brice – Oklahoma
Brice was initially committed to Kansas as a receiver before flipping to Oklahoma, where he projects as a defensive back. The Sooner pledge is showing off his athleticism and playmaking ability playing quarterback for Arlington (Texas) Seguin. We often see former high school quarterbacks make the transition to defensive back at the next level, with many turning into top draft picks.
The Metroplex product also has a 77-inch wingspan at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, which bodes well as a future defender. The athleticism, playmaking ability and outstanding length make Brice an ascending prospect in our eyes.
WR Chas Nimrod – Tennessee
Chas Nimrod gained consideration as we were assembling the initial On300 release, but just missed the cut. In going back and reevaluating the wide receiver group, we felt like the Bentonville (Ark.) product has a strong case for inclusion.
Nimrod is a long-strider with fluidity and route-running skills. He also shows the ability to locate, track and adjust to the ball. There’s a natural polish to his game as a receiver. Nimrod also has solid athletic markers with a 11.18 second 100-meter time. He joins fellow Tennessee wide receiver commit Marquarius White within the On300, making for a strong pass catching duo in the Vols’ class.
LB Jalen Woods – UCLA
Jalen Woods first caught our eye over the summer at The Opening Finals. The 6-foot, 200-pounder was a natural in coverage both in 1-on-1 drills and in 7-on-7 play. He’s continued to look like an ascending prospect this fall while playing at SoCal powerhouse St. John Bosco.
The UCLA commit had a huge game a few weeks back against East St. Louis, setting the school record with five sacks. That ability to disrupt as a blitzer and pass rusher, coupled with his coverage skills makes Woods an easy addition to the On300. He’s joined by two other Bruin pledges as new entrants.
EDGE Jared Badie – Illinois
At 6-foot-5, 215 pounds, Badie is a big, long off-ball linebacker who could grow into a pass rusher. We were impressed with his junior spring season at Oswego (Ill.) East and early returns from his senior campaign are strong, as well.
The Illinois commit is a quick-twitch athlete with the fluidity to play off-ball despite being the size of a defensive end. We see Badie make some high-level plays both in space and as a pass rusher. He’s also talented on the hardwood, playing as a guard for Derrick Rose’s AAU team.
