Spring camp season prompts 2024 On300 update
On3 has updated its football prospect rankings for the 2024 cycle. This rankings release marks the second update this year and is primarily driven by the performances we’ve seen and data we’ve gathered from off-season camps, 7-on-7’s and the high school track season to this point.
This is not an exhaustive overhaul of the On300 like the last update, which largely factored in junior season evaluations. The majority of prospects in the On300 were not actively moved and saw their rating unchanged unless dictated by new information or recent evaluations. With that said, there was some movement throughout the ranking with risers and 27 new entrants. We’ve also added ratings to a significant number of prospects in the three-star ranks.
Furthermore, we find ourselves in the midst of the off-season. College coaches are getting on the road for the evaluation period and many prospects will emerge as a result. We’re midway through the high school track season. Several regional combines and national events remain throughout the rest of the offseason, including Overtime’s OT7, Under Armour’s Future 50 and the Elite 11 Finals — all of which will be factored into the next update.
Let’s get into some of the storylines surrounding this spring update.
WR Cam Coleman earns fifth star
There is one new five-star prospect: wide receiver Cam Coleman. The Phenix City (Ala.) Central standout vaults up from No. 20 to No. 6 overall and as the No. 2 wide receiver in the cycle.
Coleman has made a rapid rise over the past six months. He is arguably the most physically gifted wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, which is one of the better groups of talent at the position we’ve seen in several years. Coleman checks in at a verified 6-foot-3.5, 185 pounds. He has outstanding length for the position with 33.5-inch arms.
The high-end size pairs with elite athleticism. Coleman was one of the top overall athletes at Under Armour’s Atlanta camp back in February, running an electronically-timed 4.48 second 40-yard dash, a 4.19 second short shuttle and jumping 10’8″ in the broad jump. All three marks were top five at the event among over 150 FBS prospects
Most importantly, the elite combination of size and athleticism easily transfers over to the field, where Coleman is a functional, coordinated athlete. We initially tabbed Coleman as a huge mover in the last On300 update due to his impressive junior film. The belief that he is one of the top receivers in the cycle was furthered by his combine showing in Atlanta and several dominant outings on the 7-on-7 circuit. Cam Coleman has shown the ability to separate within his routes and has one of the larger catch radiuses in the 2024 cycle.
Coleman has visited Auburn, LSU, Florida State and Texas A&M. The in-state Tigers are out in front according to his On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Movers within On3’s top 50
Outside of Cam Coleman, the remainder of the five-star group is static, with EDGE Dylan Stewart, defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri, Ohio State wide receiver commit Jeremiah Smith, Georgia cornerback commit Ellis Robinson IV and EDGE Colin Simmons staying as the top five prospects, in that order. We did see some movement within the top 50, however.
Defensive lineman David Stone (No. 19) moves into the top 20. The Oklahoma City native has continued to show improvement while at IMG Academy and recently put forth a very strong showing at IMG’s pro day, running a 5.0 second 40-yard dash at around 6-foot-4, 280 pounds. Stone has plus length for the position and a big frame ton continue adding good weight.
Jaden Reddell (No. 22) has been On3’s top-ranked tight end for the majority of the cycle and continues to inch up in the On300. The Raymore (Mo.) Raymore-Peculiar product has continued to showcase his sizable catch radius, which may be the largest among all pass catchers in the 2024 cycle. Reddell is a coordinated pass catcher, pairing wide receiver skills with tight end size at 6-foot-4, 230 pounds with plus length.
Weston Davis (No. 23) has one of the highest upsides among the offensive tackle group. The Beaumont (Texas) United standout is an athletic tackle with plus movement skills and considerable developmental upside. He measures in at 6-foot-5, 265 pounds with 34-inch arms. Davis is a basketball player who contributes on United’s nationally-ranked team and is still relatively new to football. The burgeoning skill, developmental frame and basketball background remind us some of former Georgia offensive tackle and potential first round pick, Broderick Jones.
Justin Williams (No. 25) moves up to the No. 1 linebacker in this release. The Conroe (Texas) Oak Ridge defender is a productive player on Friday nights and has taken a jump physically, adding good weight and continuing to showcase some of the best long speed among back half defenders in the cycle. Williams turned in a great showing at the UC Report’s Houston camp, running a scintillating 4.44 second electronically-timed 40-yard dash. He’s backed up that time on the track as well, posting a 11.01 second mark in the 100 meters. The one-time safety looks to have settled in as a high-end linebacker prospect.
Nate Frazier (No. 31) ascends to the top running back spot. At 5-foot-10.5, 205-pounds with 10.77 second speed in the 100 meters, Frazier looks to be the most explosive and skilled top running back prospect in the cycle at this relatively early juncture. He’s a versatile back with the ability to hit home runs in a variety of ways. Frazier recently showed off that versatility and athleticism at Under Armour’s Los Angeles camp.

Joseph Jonah-Ajonye (No. 38) looks to have one of the higher upsides among the defensive line group. A teammate of Justin Williams at Conroe (Texas) Oak Ridge, Jonah-Ajonye is an big, explosive defensive lineman at close to 6-foot-4, 255 pounds. He’s very young for the class and should be a 2025 prospect, which is a scary thought. Jonah-Ajonye is is only scratching the surface of his potential.
Perry Thompson (No. 39) has some of the more high-end physical gifts among the receiver group. The Alabama commit has prototypical size 6-foot-3, 205 pounds with plus length. He pairs that size with strong athleticism and has posted very good track times. Thompson has continued to build off a productive junior season, turning in some nice showings on the 7-on-7 circuit.
Florida State commit Luke Kromenhoek (No. 45) is one of the most physically gifted quarterbacks in the cycle. The Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine signal caller is a good athlete with quick feet. He has a smooth release and some of the better arm strength we’ve seen among top quarterbacks in the 2024 cycle. Kromenhoaek was a first-year starter as a junior and should continue to benefit from vital in-game reps. He will add more consistency and polish to his game, but looks to have one of the higher ceilings among the 2024 quarterback group, which is not the deepest or strongest relative to most cycles.
Notable risers within the On300
Several prospects made big moves within or into the On300.
Cornerback Kam Mikell makes his at No. 56 overall. The 6-foot-0.5, 180-pounder has a fantastic athletic profile. Mikell is a multi-positional star at Statesboro (Ga.) High and rushed for 1,000 yards as a sophomore before playing all over the field as a junior. He’s an elite athlete with a 10.50 mark as a state finalist in the 100 meters. Mikell is also a talented basketball player. He could play on offense in college, but has the highest long-term upside as a defensive back. Jameer Grimsley (No. 76), Malcolm Ziglar (No. 78) and Ondre Evans (No. 83) are three more defensive backs who made big moves into the top 100.
Ellis Davis (No. 65) is a big-framed developmental offensive tackle prospect with a bunch of upside. The Prosper (Texas) High left tackle shows outstanding movement skills and functional strength on film. Davis also a big, projectable frame at a verified 6-foot-6.5, 255 pounds with 34-inch arms and 10-inch hands. Garrett Sexton (No. 115) is a similar high-upside, developmental offensive tackle who made a big jump.
Joseph Phillips (No. 70) is a riser among the linebackers. The Tuskegee (Ala.) Booker T. Washington product is a versatile, athletic defender who could play as an off-ball linebacker or pass rusher. Phillips checks in at 6-foot-1.5, 235 pounds with an absurd 6-foot-10 wing-span. He’s an above-the-rim athlete in basketball and had 19 tackles for loss and nine sacks as a junior.
Wide receiver Isiah Canion (No. 94) has had a revelatory offseason thus far. The Georgia native showcased rare size and athleticism at Under Armour Atlanta, measuring in at close to 6-foot-3, 190 pounds with huge hands before running a 4.51 second 40-yard dash, 4.25 second shuttle and hitting 34 inches on the vertical. Canion played multiple positions including quarterback for his high school team as a junior. He will need to continue developing technically but has immense physical attributes and looks natural as a pass catcher.
Georgia leads with most On300 commitments
Georgia‘s top-ranked class currently leads the way with ten commitments in the On300. Ohio State (8), Michigan (7), Florida (5) and Tennessee (5) round out the top five. Alabama, Oregon and South Carolina each have four apiece. 29 different programs have commitments within the On300.
