On3 4-star OL Ryqueze McElderry decommits from Georgia
Anniston (Ala.) offensive lineman committed Ryqueze McElderry has been committed to Georgia for seven months. But that has changed.
McElderry decommitted from the school Saturday.
“First and Foremost I want to thank Coach Smart, Coach Searels , Coach Gordon, Coach Danzey and the whole Georgia staff for recruiting me and showing me love,” McElderry said in a statement. “After Talking Things Over With My Mom I Have Decided To Decommit From Georgia And Reopen My Recruitment.
“Thank You Georgia And Georgia Fans!”
Ranked as the No. 417 overall prospect in the 2023 On3 Consensus, McElderry is a four-star prospect according to On3.
This decommitment did not come out of the blue from McElderry. His recruitment never really shut down after his commitment as he has continued to talk with other schools.

Over the past six weeks, McElderry has taken official visits to Auburn and Tennessee as well as an unofficial visit to Alabama.
All three of those schools are in the mix for McElderry, who isn’t too far away from making a final decision.
“Right now, I’m still debating things a little bit,” McElderry told Auburn Live’s Keith Niebuhr last week. “Just going through my mind and evaluating everything. What was said on the official visits. What was talked about on my officials. Stuff like that.”
