Olney (Ill.) Richland County four-star offensive lineman Casey Thomann has committed to Illinois, he announced on Tuesday.

Thomann chose the Fighting Illini over offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, Toledo and a handful of other programs.

“First off, I want to thank God for guiding me through my football career. I wouldn’t be who I am today without Him. Next, I want to thank my family. Mom and dad, you have always pushed me and always put me in a situation to succeed as a person but also as an athlete,” he wrote on Twitter. “Providing love and support through the toughest and best times of my life I can never thank you enough. My lil brother Jack, thank you for being the best sibling and teammate I could ask for. My grandparents, from Olney Illinois to Columbus Ohio I can’t thank you guys enough for the amount of love and support your have shown to me.

… To my coaches, thank you for always believing and pushing me to becoming who I am today as a player and person. To OTN and all of my teammates thank you for becoming a family for me and we aren’t done yet! Lastly, I want to thank Coach Music for getting me into football and becoming an O-lineman and Coach Carmody for helping me with recruiting and always being there for me. With that being said, I have committed to the University of Illinois!!”

The 6-foot-8, 260-pounder is the No. 413 overall prospect and No. 32 OT in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3 is slightly higher on him than the other services, though. In the most recent rankings update, he was tabbed as a four-star prospect and the country’s No. 29 offensive tackle.

He is the 10th commitment thus far for Bret Bielema and Co., who have been on a recruiting tear since the start of the New Year. Since then, they’ve landed nine pledges including Thomann, top-100 cornerback Victor Singleton and four-star athlete Cam Thomas.
