On3 has updated its recruiting ranking for the 2024 class after the completion of dozens of offseason camps, as well as events like the Elite 11 Finals and Overtime 7v7 Finals. Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei running back Nathaniel Frazier is the No. 15 overall prospect in the 2024 On300 and a new five-star prospect, jumping up from No. 31 overall in On3’s previous rankings.

The latest edition of On3’s 2024 rankings features 15 five-star players, up from 11 in the previous update in April. Of those 15 prospects, seven are already committed to college programs, with five-star wide receiver Cam Coleman and defensive lineman Justin Scott the latest to come off the board to Texas A&M and Ohio State, respectively.

The 5-foot-10.5, 205-pound Frazier remains uncommitted and took official visits to Oregon, Georgia and Alabama in the month of June.

“Nathaniel Frazier is fresh off an official visit to Alabama. The Crimson Tide has been in this as a contender for some time. Another SEC school, Georgia, has had some momentum though, since his visit to Athens earlier this month,” On3’s Chad Simmons wrote at the end of June. “The four-star running back has visited Georgia a couple of times in recent months and he is keeping his official visit for the season.

“…Oregon and Texas A&M are two more schools in the mix, but Georgia still looks to be the team to beat. A decision could come this summer, but that is still to be determined.”

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) currently gives a slight edge to Oregon for Frazier at 29.7%. Just behind the Ducks is Alabama at 25.9%.

Nathaniel Frazier Scouting Summary

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power writes this about him as a prospect:

“Dynamic every down back with projectable size and home run ability. Measured in at 5-foot-10.5, 206 pounds in the spring prior to his senior season. Has some of the best long speed among top running backs in the 2024 cycle, running a wind-legal 10.77 mark in the 100 meters as a junior. Carries that speed over to the field where he displays arguably the best burst among 2024 running back prospects. Explodes through the hole and consistently defeats defenders’ angles as an outside runner. Has the long speed to pull away once in the open field. Runs with outstanding pace. Makes defenders miss at a high rate, with lateral agility. Side-steps tacklers in confined spaces. Runs with high-level contact balance. Stays grounded on contact and spins out of tackles.

“…Dangerous in the screen game and has upside as a pass catcher given his showings on the camp circuit. Transferred to powerhouse Mater Dei as a junior and split carries in a talented backfield. Does not have the workload or production of most other top running back prospects, but is highly efficient. Rushed for 693 yards and eight touchdowns on 61 carries (11.4 yards per carry) as a junior. More of a skill set evaluation than a pure high school football resume builder heading into his senior season.”
