Over 20 schools have offered Jonathan Daniels. He is a national recruit that ranks No. 73 in the On3 Industry Rankings. For On3, Daniels is a five-star and the No. 11 prospect in the On300.

The 6-foot-4.5, 275-pound offensive tackle out of Pensacola (Fla.) Pine Forest took official visits to Florida State, Georgia and Kentucky in June. Those three made strong enough impressions to become finalists for Daniels.

“It is about the people first at those three schools,” Daniels told On3. “They communicate with me daily and they have made me feel like a top priority. Coaches from all three schools have built relationships with me, I love how they have gotten to know me, and if I went to Florida State, Georgia or Kentucky, I know the people would be for me and in my corner.”

Kentucky received the first official visit. It was Daniels’ first time in Lexington. He said it was amazing. Florida State is the school closest to home and the school he has visited the most. Home is how he described the ACC program in Tallahassee. It was all about the people in Athens. Georgia welcomed him and that stood out most.

Now, Daniels could be closing in on a decision. He is down to three and a summer decision is likely. Only one school could be left standing in the near future.

‘I am working to get this down to one soon,” added Daniels. “Recruiting is a lot to handle. It is fun, and I am blessed, but it is stressful. I am still going over the pros and cons, but three schools really opened up my eyes.

“Now I want to find the best one for me. I know what looking for and know what I want, so next for me is to commit to one.”
