Now that official visits are already taking place, the recruiting world has officially turned its eyes toward the Class of 2023. With a bevy of notable quarterbacks, a geographic diversity among the nation’s top players and plenty of other notable storylines, the 2023 cycle is shaping up to be one of the most interesting in recent memory. And, per usual, the players at the top of the class will be among the most highly recruited in the nation.

Following the recent release of an updated On300 ranking, a number of changes have happened in the On3 Consensus, including five new five-star prospects.

Checking in as the No. 14 overall prospect in the class is Denton (Texas) Ryan linebacker Anthony Hill.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Texas A&M is the favorite to land his commitment. The Aggies have a 39.7% of landing him. They’re followed by Oklahoma at 25.6%, Texas at 17.4% and USC at 8.3%.

Anthony Hill Scouting Summary

“Anthony Hill is a downhill linebacker with good size and straight-line speed. Hill has starred for one of the top defenses in Texas high school football since his sophomore season. Combines his speed with a high effort level, resulting in a highly productive player at the high school level. At his best when he can use his closing speed as a blitzer or in pursuit sideline-to-sideline.

“Additionally, Anthony Hill shows some physicality as a striker. Has one of the longer wingspans of top linebackers in the 2023 cycle. Furthermore, he provides added value as a pass rusher and may eventually grow into an EDGE prospect down the line. Has a penchant for forcing turnovers and looks to strip the football often. Will need to continue improving his skills playing in space and in coverage.” – Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
