The nation’s top prospect is planning official visits to six schools, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Thursday.

Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy five-star EDGE Zion Elee plans to see Maryland, Auburn, Ohio State, Penn State, Texas A&M and South Carolina.

Auburn Live reported earlier this week that Elee will officially visit The Plains June 13-15.

He is currently committed to Maryland, having pledged to the Terrapins on Dec. 7.

“I think Maryland is a great school,” Elee told On3 when he committed. “What made me make the decision is the coaches. They’re really good people and I really connected with them on an outside level.”

He continued.

“I feel like I don’t want to wait,” Elee said. “I want to go somewhere and make that connection early.

“I always liked the environment. The coaches and visits were nice. I put everything aside and thought what do I actually want to do? I really thought about it and I wanted to stay home.”

Elee is the nation’s No. 3 overall prospect in the 2026 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 1 EDGE in the class and the No. 2 recruit from the state of Maryland.

On3 is higher on Elee than the three other major recruiting services. He ranks as the No. 1 overall prospect in the On300.

“Elee, who debuted as a blue-chip outlier and top ten prospect for On3 in March, has separated himself as the clear top EDGE prospect in the cycle,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power wrote about Elee’s ascent to No. 1. “He owns freakish physical and athletic tools at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds with 35.5-inch arms and elite combine and on-field athleticism. Elee had a highly productive sophomore season at Joppatowne (Md.) High. He’s continued to up his game since transferring to talent powerhouse Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy for his junior season.

“Elee’s first-step quickness, scary length and closing speed jump off the film. St. Frances has played a national schedule and Elee has had stretches of top matchups where he’s looked like the clear top prospect on the field – as a junior. There’s a ways to go in the cycle and Elee has plenty of competition for the top spot. To this point his combination of physical traits and on-field play at the premium EDGE position put him in pole position.”
