On3 Outliers: 2025 prospects On3 ranks higher than the recruiting industry
After the end of the high school football season and the completion of the all-star game circuit, On3 has released its final recruiting rankings for the 2025 class.
Included in the final update is a slew of prospects that On3 is higher on than the recruiting industry’s other three services: 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals.
Director of Scouting Charles Power and National Scout Cody Bellaire dive in on 10 recruits that are among the biggest outliers for On3 at the end of the 2025 cycle:
QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele — Cal
School: Ewa Beach (Hi.) James Campbell
On300 Ranking: No. 20
Next Highest Ranking: No. 65 (247Sports)
Industry Comparison
Scouting Take: “Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele has a case as the most skilled passer among quarterbacks in the 2025 cycle. He finished as the all-time leading passer in the state of Hawaii. Sagapolutele has a plus arm, he’s an outstanding downfield passer, he shows the ability to layer and locate his passes to all levels of the field. He turned in a sensational senior season that rocketed him up the On3 rankings and college boards. He first came on the scene as an under-recruited prospect at the Elite 11 Finals and parlayed that into a big fall, with him earning his fifth star in our November On300 rankings update.” — On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power
EDGE Tylon Lee — Florida State
School: Milton (Fla.) Pace
On300 Ranking: No. 24
Next Highest Ranking: NR
Industry Comparison
Scout’s Take: “Tylon Lee is an EDGE defender heading to Florida State that put up ungodly numbers during his senior season collecting 40 tackles-for-loss, 28 hurries and 6 sacks. His production was on another level this past season DOUBLING his tackles-for-loss total from his junior season. And at 6-foot-5.5, 265 pounds with 34-inch arms he possesses an elite frame that plays with an absurd motor. His tenacity and pursuit towards the football is rare and he combines that with tremendous burst and explosiveness off the line of scrimmage. Plus, Lee is a stout run defender that can contain and set the edge with his raw power and has a strong punch at the line of scrimmage. He has one of the highest floors of any prospect in the country and an unlimited ceiling, which is why he earned a 5th star for us at On3.” — On3 National Scout Cody Bellaire
IOL Carius Curne — LSU
School: Marion (Ark.)
On300 Ranking: No. 28
Next Highest Ranking: No. 67 (247Sports)
Industry Comparison
Scout’s Take: “One of the most college-ready builds of any prospect along the offensive line in this 2025 cycle belongs to LSU signee Carius Curne. The 6-foot-4, 321 pound interior offensive lineman has such a dense and powerful build combined with impressive twitch and movement skills. The freakish athleticism jumps off the tape as a puller and when working in space. Not to mention, Curne is capable of sticking round-off back handsprings which is simply not normal for a human being weighing nearly 325 pounds. His power and ability to displace defenders in the run game is so dominant it could allow for Curne to walk in and potentially earn a starting role along LSU’s offensive line as a true freshman.” — On3 National Scout Cody Bellaire
S Lagonza Hayward — Florida
School: Lyons (Ga.) Toombs County
On300 Ranking: No. 35
Next Highest Ranking: No. 99 (ESPN)
Industry Comparison
Scout’s Take: “Lagonza Hayward is a dynamic two-way playmaker who we project as a versatile safety at the college level. He has great size at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds and is a plus athlete. Hawyard showed great ball skills as a receiver on Friday nights and is a physical, instinctive defensive back. Hayward had an outstanding senior season, leading his team to a state title. He was a big-time player on both sides of the ball at Toombs County High. Flipping Hayward from Tennessee was a huge recruiting win for Florida and Billy Napier. We project the Gators signee to be a stalwart in Florida’s secondary for years to come.” — On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power
LB Zaydrius Rainey-Sale — Washington
School: Spanaway (Wash.) Bethel
On300 Ranking: No. 37
Next Highest Ranking: No. 127 (ESPN)
Industry Comparison
Scout’s Take: “Zaydrius Rainey-Sale is one of our favorite linebacker prospects in 2025 and we wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up being the top draft pick from the position when things are all said and done. Rainey-Sale showed a bunch of improvement as a senior. He has very good size, around 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, plus length, he’s a very good athlete and is one of the few true two-way playmakers among the linebacker prospects, checking the box of what tends to be a fairly strong indicator at the position. He was an outstanding wide receiver, catching double-digit touchdowns as a senior. You see the coordination and athleticism on defense.
…He has high-level range while dropping into coverage, he picked off four passes as a senior, returned some for touchdowns and just has a natural comfort while moving in space, to go with his physicality as a run defender. Rainey-Sale is one of the youngest prospects in the cycle, he won’t turn 18 years old until November. There’s a ton of upside here for him to continue improving and developing. He’s already one of the best linebackers in the country. I feel like we could look up in a couple years and feel like our ranking maybe wasn’t even high enough. A huge in-state pull for Washington and Jedd Fisch.” — On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power

EDGE Smith Orogbo — Texas
School: Houston Alief Hastings
On300 Ranking: No. 38
Next Highest Ranking: No. 105 (ESPN)
Industry Comparison
Scout’s Take: “Texas has been pumping out NFL talent along the defensive line recently and Smith Orogbo will look to continue the trend up front for the Longhorns. Even though his senior season was cut short after three games due to leg surgery, Orogbo’s junior production was eye-popping collecting over 100 tackles and nearly double digit sacks. And at 6-foot-4, nearly 220 pounds with 34-inch arms he has the frame to add substantial mass to his frame while still maintaining his ridiculous athleticism. His ability to chase and pursue from the backside makes him a force in the run game. And in the passing game, he has an excellent understanding of leverage and hand usage in order to consistently when his rushes to apply pressure to opposing quarterbacks. If he can make a clean recovery off of surgery, he could become a problem for opposing SEC offenses for years to come.” — On3 National Scout Cody Beallire
EDGE Mariyon Dye — Tennessee
School: Elkhart (Ind.) Central
On300 Ranking: No. 42
Next Highest Ranking: No. 94 (247Sports)
Industry Comparison
Scout’s Take: “Mariyon Dye’s body type and length is truly one of the most special physical feats in the 2025 cycle. At 6-foot-5, 255 pounds Dye posseses genuinely rare 35.5-inch arms with over a 7-foot wingspan. Pair that with his play-strength at the point of attack and his ability to shock blockers and you have one of the most dominant run defenders in the run country. He also has a strong get-off that allows him to knife between the offensive line to apply pressure to opposing quarterbacks. Dye totaled 13.5 tackles-for-loss and 17 hurries in his senior season. If he can hone his craft as a pass rusher and develop a strong pass rush arsenal then Dye could become one of the most complete EDGE defenders in the country.” — On3 National Scout Cody Bellaire
OT Zac Stascausky — Oregon
School: Portland Central Catholic
On300 Ranking: No. 45
Next Highest Ranking: No. 154 (247Sports)
Industry Comparison
Scout’s Take: “With one of the highest floors of any offensive tackle in the 2025 cycle, the Oregon Ducks landed Zac Stascausky out of their own backyard. His violence and strain to finish blocks is elite. His film is littered with bodies being tossed out of the club or buried into the dirt in the run game and is extremely calm and composed as a pass blocker. His balance and ability to square up defenders allows him to create space in the run game consistently. He will need a year or so to physically develop his body into a college-ready blocker, but once he hits 300-pounds? He is going to become a staple along the Oregon offensive front.” — On3 National Scout Cody Bellaire
LB Kellen Wiley — Miami
School: Tampa Armwood
On300 Ranking: No. 74
Next Highest Ranking: NR
Industry Comparison
Scout’s Take: “Kellen Wiley saw a massive spike in his recruitment and rankings as a senior after transferring from Hillsboro High School to Tampa area powerhouse Seffner Armwood. Wiley is one of the more physically-imposing linebackers in this cycle. He’s over 6-foot-3, around 215 pounds with 34-plus inch arms. He is hyper-physical. An enforcer at the second level of the defense, blows up ball carriers on contact, really plays with a hunting mentality. Moves well at his size, is very comfortable playing in space. After tracking Wiley as a senior, it’s not a surprise to see that he was coveted by Miami, Texas and other programs.” — On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power
OT Dennis Uzochukwu — Georgia
School: Lawrenceville (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge
On300 Ranking: No. 78
Next Highest Ranking: NR
Industry Comparison
Scout’s Take: “Dennis Uzochukwu was a great in-state senior season evaluation by Georgia. Originally committed to Georgia State, Uzochukwu was one of On3’s highest-rated group of five commits. He continued to show a ton of improvement as a senior. Uzochukwu has a really strong combo of size and athleticism. He’s over 6-foot-5, around 280 pounds with 35-inch arms and he moves like a much smaller player. Uzochukwu has the high-end physical traits you look for in top offensive tackles. He may need some time to continue developing at Georgia, but we feel like once he gets on the field, there is clear NFL upside here. Perhaps reminiscent to high-end developmental types that Georgia’s had success with on the offensive line like Broderick Jones and Amarius Mims, both of whom were first-round picks.” — On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power
