On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine: Missouri takes lead for 4-star Marvin Burks Jr.
St. Louis (Mo.) Cardinal Ritter College Prep four-star safety Marvin Burks Jr. had been a strong lean to Ole Miss.
When he announced his commitment date Wednesday, the Rebels had a 92.2% chance via the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine to land the four-star safety.
That is no longer the case.
Missouri is the current favorite heading into the home stretch ahead of his Friday night commitment. The Tigers have a 53.3% chance to Ole Miss’ 42.7% chance. It is far from overwhelming odds but it is definitely a gamechanger this late in the race.
The other finalists for Burks are LSU, Oklahoma and Texas A&M
RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

Burks is the No. 337 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is ranked No. 295 in the 2023 On300 ranking.
He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $14.4k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Marvin Burks Jr. Scouting Summary
Versatile playmaker on both sides of the ball who is athletic enough to get sideline to sideline but isn’t scared to play between the hashes either. Long and leaner defensive back prospect with a wiry build. Solid top-end speed who eats yards with his stride length. Ran an impressive 11.16 100m and 22.60 200m given his length during his junior track and field season. Beyond a willing tackler. Enforcer in the run game and runs the alley with malicious intent. Rangy center fielder who has excellent field vision as a deep safety. Shows natural ball skills while playing receiver. High upside and high floor player whose best ball is ahead of him. If he is unable to carry the necessary weight you still have a rangy safety who is a willing tackler. If he adds the necessary weight while maintaining his athleticism you have a potential top-100 safety prospect.
