Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage four-star running back Mark Fletcher decommitted from Ohio State on Nov. 16. Since then, it has been believed to be a two-team race for his pledge between Florida and Miami.

After industry predictions, the Hurricanes now lead for Fletcher’s commitment at 77.3%. He took an official visit to Coral Gables this weekend.

Fletcher is the No. 253 overall prospect and No. 16 running back in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 49 player in Florida.

In addition to his official this weekend, the four-star has visited head coach Mario Cristobal and his staff seven other times. His most recent unofficial to Miami was on Nov. 5.

A 6-foot-1, 225-pound tailback, Fletcher has an On3 NIL Valuation of $28K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Mark Fletcher On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Mark Fletcher:

“Big back who projects as a between the tackles power runner at the college level. Has a taller build and should top out north of 230 pounds after spending time in a college strength program. Plays for one of the top talent-producing programs in the state of Florida. Shows good feet with the ability to make defenders miss with lateral agility. Has some natural power and contact balance.

“Squares his shoulders and has the leg drive to run through arm tackles. Catches the ball well out of the backfield. Should be dangerous on the goal line. Will need to continue improving his top-end speed in order to rip off long runs once in the open field. Solid production, but lacks the high-end production profile of most top running back prospects heading into his senior season.”
