On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine: New team leads for No. 1 RB Richard Young

There is a new favorite for Lehigh Acres (Fla.) Lehigh Senior five-star running back Richard Young.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has Oregon as the top team in Young’s recruitment with a 42.6% chance of landing the nation’s top running back.

The Ducks overtake Alabama, the previous leader. The Crimson Tide are now at 35.6%.

Earlier this week, Alabama had 48.4% chance of landing Young with Oregon at 30.5% and Georgia at 17.4%. The Bulldogs’ odds haven’t changed much with their odds now at 18.0%.

About two weeks ago, the Crimson Tide earned a commitment from Roswell (Ga.) Buford four-star running back Justice Haynes.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. 

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

On3 National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman input a prediction for Young to Oregon earlier Friday with a confidence of 55.5%. It was the first On3 prediction in the three months.

Richard Young is the On3 Consensus No. 1 RB

The On3 Consensus — a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies — has Richard Young as the No. 31 overall prospect and No. 1 running back in the 2023 recruiting cycle.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $234k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
