On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine favors USC for 4-star Josh Conerly Jr.
Only two prospects remain unsigned among the top 100 players in the 2022 class; one is five-star defensive lineman Lebbeus Overton, who recently reclassified from the 2023 class. The other is four-star offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr., who decided to take his recruitment past both the signing periods and well into the spring.
Conerly is down to six schools: USC, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon and Washington. He recently told On3’s WeAreSC that he has set an official visit to see the Trojans March 25-27. He has already taken official visits to Michigan, Oklahoma and Miami, and is expected to visit the Ducks this spring as well. But according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), it’s USC that has a slight lead in the hunt for his services.

The RPM gives the Trojans a 44.2 percent chance to land Conerly, with Oregon (22.3%), Michigan (12.0%) and Washington (9.2%) trailing further behind. Conerly has a strong connection with USC offensive analyst Lenny Vandermade, as well as former interim coach Donte Williams — who is still on staff. He has previously visited the Trojans twice, once in June and another trip in September.
Josh Conerly Jr. Scouting Summary
“A modern day athletic offensive tackle prospect with a basketball background. Fast starter out of his stance with excellent foot quickness. Quickly works to second level, and looks to strike in open space. Dangerous when he pulls with a powerful initial punch. High-end ankle flexion and knee bend are evident. Flat-footed in a three-point stance with an athletic look. Shoots his hands with accuracy. Athleticism and initial quickness shows up at defensive tackle as well. A disruptor on that side of the ball. Frame has the ability to carry more than 300 pounds and is well proportioned.” — On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power
