On300 EDGE Blake Purchase offered by Oklahoma
Englewood (Colo.) Cherry Creek EDGE Blake Purchase has been a known commodity on the West Coast for quite some time. But his recruitment is beginning to expand, with Oklahoma extending him an offer Tuesday night.
Purchase is the No. 552 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 50 EDGE and the No. 4 junior prospect in Colorado.
On3, though is much higher on Purchase than the other three major recruiting sites, according to the Industry Comparison. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the country’s No. 257 prospect, No. 32 EDGE and No. 1 Centennial State player.

But USC, which was recruiting Purchase under previous coach Clay Helton, has ramped up its pursuit of him since Lincoln Riley took over this winter. His offer was re-affirmed by the new staff in late December, and he was back on campus in late March.
“This visit really changed things in my mind,” Purchase told WeAreSC after the visit. “Watching practice you saw a very high-tempo, and they’re is a big focus on defense. This new staff is really putting an emphasis on being as good defensively as offensively.”
Purchase is planning each of his official visits for June before making a commitment in July. Time is short for Oklahoma, but without any of those visits locked in, the Sooners will surely look to break into the top group and get him on campus.
