On300 DL Khurtiss Perry narrows list to 5 Schools
Four-star defensive lineman Khurtiss Perry of Montgomery (Ala.) has narrowed his list to five schools- Auburn, Alabama, Texas, UCF, and Clemson.
The 6-foot-2 265 pounder announced a top 10 in July. This time around, he cut Oregon, Tennessee, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, and Miami from contention.
Perry, one of the most coveted defensive line prospects in the class, elaborated on each of his finalists.
Auburn
“Auburn has a great defensive line and they also have a great D-line and head coach,” Perry said. “I feel like they are going to continue to grow week by week.”
UCF
“They have been recruiting me since my eighth grade year,” Perry said. “They are a great school and my family has a great connection with them. Also, Coach (Travis) Williams and Coach (Gus) Malzahn, we chop it up a lot about different things.”

Alabama
“Alabama is a disciplined team and they win championships,” Perry said. “They have a great coaching staff and the offensive side of the ball is really good, which will allow me to go against the best in practice.”
Texas
“Coach (Steve) Sarkisian and Coach (Bo) Davis and the rest of the staff are great coaches,” Perry said. “Coach Davis has put a lot of people in the league, so I feel like he is going to give me a chance to put me there as well.”
Clemson
“Clemson has been recruiting me hard since day one,” Perry said. “They have a great coaching staff and a championship team. Also, they’re having a rough year, but I feel like they will pick up the slack next year and will be way better.”
Perry feels like he can be dominant at each school.
“All five schools are great schools,” Perry said. “I feel like at any of these schools I can come in and be a dominant pass rusher, as well as run stopper.”
