On3 5-Star Plus+ Domani Jackson decommits from USC
Five-Star Plus+ cornerback Domani Jackson of Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei decommitted from USC on Sunday.
“First and foremost, I want to say a huge thank you to Coach Dante and the entire USC coaching staff for giving me an opportunity to compete at the next level,” Jackson said.
“I can’t thank the Trojan community enough for all of the love and support they have shown me. With that being said, after a lot of thinking and talking with my family, I have decided that it is in my best interest to decommit from USC. Doing so will allow me to sit down and figure out what is best for me and my future. I will always have love for the University of Southern California, and my family and I wish nothing but the best for its players, coaches, and the fans. Thank you.”
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound five-star cornerback committed to the Trojans back in January. While committed to USC, he visited Michigan and took a visit to Alabama last weekend.
Domani Jackson is ranked as the No. 5 player in the On3 Consensus, which is a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

With the decommitment, USC dropped to eight commitments in the 2022 recruiting class. Jackson was one of three corners committed to the Trojans. Specifically, USC has pledges from corners Jaeden Gould and Fabian Ross, as well as safety Ephesians Prysock.
Scouting Domani Jackson
“Domani Jackson has the best combination of size and long speed among the cornerbacks in the 2022 cycle,” said Charles Power, the Director of Scouting and Rankings for On3.
“He tied the California state record in the 100 meters as a junior, running a posting 10.25-second mark in the state finals at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds. A technically sound, smooth mover who has been well-coached at one of the nation’s top high school programs.
“He is battle-tested against top wide receivers playing against nationally-ranked high school teams on a regular basis. Has considerable make-up speed to close the gap when he is out of phase. As a defense-only player, he’s still a work in progress when it comes to instincts and ball-tracking skills. Missed the majority of his senior season after tearing his ACL in Mater Dei’s first game.”
