Brunswick (Ga.) offensive tackle Jamal Meriweather has committed to UCF on his visit there this weekend, he announced Sunday on Twitter.

Meriweather is the No. 874 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3 is drastically higher on him than the rest of the industry, though, according to the Industry Comparison. In the most recent On300 ranking, he was tabbed as the country’s No. 263 overall prospect, No. 20 offensive tackle and No. 26 prospect in Georgia.

“I’ve got an announcement to make,” Meriweather wrote in his announcement tweet. “First, I would like to thank god for blessing me with this opportunity. I’m extremely appreciative of how much support l’ve had from the day I picked up a football. From numerous coaches, to my amazing teammates and family, I couldn’t be more grateful. I would like to thank the coaches who recruited me, and offer me a scholarship to their university, you saw potential in me and that means more than you know. To my parents, my father, and the rest of my dearest family; thank you for your endless love and support. Thank you for faithfully being in the stands at my games and cheering me on. Any opportunity to play the game that I love at the next level is beyond incredible; that being said, I am beyond excited to announce my commitment to the University of Central Florida. #GoKnights”

In addition to the Knights, Jamal Meriweather held offers from Tennessee, Mississippi State, Michigan State, Utah, Virginia Tech, USC and more than a dozen other programs. He is UCF’s second commitment this weekend, joining four-star EDGE Isaiah Nixon.
