On3 Outliers: 2026 recruits that On3 ranks higher than the recruiting industry
Following the initial release of the full 2026 On300 rankings in March, On3 has released its updated recruiting rankings for the the class. It now features dozens of first-time rankings for prospects breaking onto the scene, as well updated evaluations in many recruits who were already nationally known.
Included on that list are a number of prospects that On3 is higher on than the industry’s other three services: 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals.
On3 National Scout Cody Bellaire breaks down some of the biggest outliers early in the 2026 cycle:
DL Tony Cumberland – Oregon commit
On300 Ranking: No. 22
Next Highest Ranking: No. 60 (247)
Industry Comparison
Scout’s Take: “Tony Cumberland is an absolute disruptor along the interior defensive line. Standing in at 6-foot-4, 280+ pounds, Cumberland has tremendous burst off the line of scrimmage and plays with excellent pad level that allows him to win at the point of attack consistently. His combination of twitch and power is what every defensive line coach in the country looks for in underclassmen coming out of high school, especially with his frame and build. We expect him to fill the stat sheet his junior season and continue to destroy offensive game plans week in and week out.” – Cody Bellaire, On3 National Scout
DL Aiden Harris
On300 Ranking: No. 25
Next Highest Ranking: No. 141 (ESPN)
Industry Comparison
Scout’s Take: “It’s quite common to find defensive linemen participating in track and field during the offseason, but it’s quite uncommon to see a defensive lineman throwing the shot put and discus while also running the 100m in 11.7 seconds at 6’2+, 255 pounds as a 15 year old. But Aiden Harris is far from common. He’s a freakish athlete with an equally freakish wingspan at nearly 6-foot-8 inches. Harris’ athletic ability was on full display his sophomore season as he was constantly chasing down ball carriers and quarterbacks in the backfield racking up over 20 tackles-for-loss and 6 sacks. Harris is also on the younger side of the spectrum for 2026 prospects so he’s just starting to scratch the surface of his long-term potential.” – Cody Bellaire, On3 National Scout
ATH Derrek Cooper
On300 Ranking: No. 17
Next Highest Ranking: No. 96 (Rivals)
Industry Comparison
Scout’s Take: “As far as athletes go in the 2026 recruiting cycle, one of the absolute best resides in Hollywood, FL and his name is Derrek Cooper. The two-way star from Chaminade-Madonna Prep is a game-changer at running back and safety on Friday nights. His impressive top-end speed and explosiveness allows him to break long runs at running back and cover every blade of grass in the secondary. He also lights the track on fire as well running 10.88 in the 100m, 22.21 in the 200m and has leapt a personal best 22-foot-7 long jump. Cooper’s ceiling is sky high due to his top-tier athleticism and positional versatility.” – Cody Bellaire, On3 National Scout

SAF Kaiden Hall
On300 Ranking: No. 27
Next Highest Ranking: No. 180 (ESPN)
Industry Comparison
Scout’s Take: “Kaiden Hall is a three-dimensional safety prospect in the 2026 recruiting cycle. He can support in the run game, he can play man coverage and he can patrol the back half of the field in zone coverage. He secured an interception last season and multiple pass breakups as well as tallying 64 total tackles and 8 tackles-for-loss as a sophomore. At 6-2+, 190 pounds, Hall has the frame and movement skills to roam all over the field and line up at almost any position on the defensive side of the ball. This is the type of Swiss-army knife, chess piece that defensive coordinators love to move all over the field in order for them to make as many plays as possible. Hall has the size and positional versatility to make plays at every level of the field.” – Cody Bellaire, On3 National Scout
IOL Pierre Dean
On300 Ranking: No. 18
Next Highest Ranking: No. 85 (ESPN, Rivals)
Industry Comparison
Scout’s Take: “Pierre Dean is one of the most athletic offensive linemen in the 2026 recruiting cycle. At 6’3, 275 pounds, Dean has solid length and unbelievable foot quickness in order to climb to second level defenders as well as pull across the line of scrimmage in a flash. He already has excellent functional strength and explosiveness which he displays in the shot put during the offseason throwing a personal best of 44-foot-1. But as he grows into his impressive frame and physically develop, he will continue to get stronger and find easier to move defenders off the ball. Plus, he has a summer birthday, which makes him one of the younger prospects in the entire cycle meaning he won’t turn 18 until the summer going into his freshman year of college. We believe he has the chance to turn into an ever greater version of his older brother, Georgia center Jared Wilson, so the ceiling for him is limitless.” – Cody Bellaire, On3 National Scout
RB Javian Osborne
On300 Ranking: No. 23
Next Highest Ranking: No. 65 (ESPN)
Industry Comparison
Scout’s Take: “Javian Osborne’s film is filled with translatable skills to the next level and jaw-dropping cuts. He is arguably the most natural runner of the football in the country and it shows on the stat sheet. Osborne’s sophomore campaign was filled with impressive runs that lead to him rushing for over 2,000 yards and scoring more than 40 touchdowns for Forney(TX) high school. His foot quickness, contact balance and elusiveness allows him to get skinny between the tackles and make defenders miss in a phone booth. He also ran a personal best 11.05 100m his sophomore track season which translates to his ability to hit the home run ball on Friday nights. Osborne is one of the most polished runners in the class and has the build and athletic ability to be one of the most complete players in the nation.” – Cody Bellaire, On3 National Scout
