Columbia (S.C.) Heathwood Hall Episcopal four-star cornerback Onis Konanbanny is one of the nation’s top unsigned prospects in the 2025 class.

He committed to Tennessee on Aug. 23, but Florida has been heavily in the mix down the stretch. On Monday, Gators secondary coach Will Harris made his way to the Magnolia State to visit the 6-foot, 175-pounder:

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine now favors Florida to flip Konanbanny away from the Volunteers, as On3’s Chad Simmons and Steve Wiltfong each logged picks in favor of the Sunshine State SEC program last month.

Konanbanny opted not to ink during the Early Signing Period and was a frequent visitor in Gainesville ahead of December. With a February decision now on the horizon, signs continue to point toward head coach Billy Napier, Harris and Co.

“Still in play is four-star cornerback Onis Konanbanny, who has been a verbal to Tennessee since August. Chad Simmons and I both have On3 RPMs in place for the Gators to ultimately add Konanbanny and still feel strong about it,” Wiltfong wrote at the end of December.

“Konanbanny is expected back in Gainesville in January where he’ll shadow a player and get more insight on the day in the life of a Florida football player. He loves the staff led by potential position coach Will Harris’s recruiting efforts and this upcoming trip will likely check the final boxes.”

Florida went on a recruiting tear to round out the year, flipping nine blue-chippers, headlined by the recent addition of five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson, a former Oregon signee. The Gators’ class now ranks No. 11 in the nation, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. It also includes a trio of four-star defensive backs in safety Hylton Stubbs, CB Ben Hanks III and four-star safety Lagonza Hayward.

Konanbanny could be the final piece to the puzzle as attention begins to turn toward the 2026 class. As a senior for Heathwood Hall, he racked up 56 total tackles and an interception.

“I want to see how I feel. Tennessee is a great school, but Florida is giving me a lot to think about too,” Konanbanny told Simmons on Dec. 1.

He is the No. 384 overall prospect and No. 38 CB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 8 player in South Carolina.
