Ahead of Saturday’s game against Oregon State, Oregon released its availability report. The Ducks will be without multiple players for the rivalry matchup in Corvallis.

Oregon and Oregon State will renew their rivalry, formerly known as the “Civil War,” as they start new eras. The Ducks are in their first season as a member of the Big Ten while the Beavers stayed in what’s now a two-team Pac-12 – although more teams are on the way.

Oregon and Oregon State have traditionally played their game at the end of the regular season. However, things are different this year after a groundbreaking round of conference realignment saw the Ducks move to the Big Ten.

The rivalry is still strong, though. Dan Lanning said as much earlier this week, adding to the excitement about continuing the game.

“It certainly does to me,” Lanning said when asked if it still feels like a big game. “You know, the rivalry is something I always appreciate. I think that makes college football fun.”

The Ducks and Beavers both enter the matchup 2-0, although Oregon’s undefeated start hasn’t come as easily as expected. The Ducks beat Idaho just 24-14 to open the season and beat Boise State only 37-34 this past weekend – needing a last-second field goal to do so. However, Lanning believes his club will be ready for the big rivalry game on Saturday.

“This is a fun game for the state of Oregon. And it’s certainly a fun game for our players,” Lanning said. “I think they know exactly what it means. It means a little bit more. So is it another game? It’s another game. Is it important for us? It’s very important for us. Our guys want to go out there and have success.”

Oregon holds the all-time lead in the rivalry with Oregon State with a 68-49-10 mark since the first game between the two in 1894. However, Lanning has a 1-1 record in the game after losing his first year with the Ducks before bouncing back last year. They will renew the matchup Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
